When the owner of Blanc Mansion dies, everything seems to crumble into tiny pieces for the small city known as Cherry Grove as upon Blanc’s death, a curse was placed upon the city causing the citizens of Cherry Grove. No one knows exactly how the curse was placed upon the city, all everyone simply knows is that it happened and it affected them and outsiders who entered the city. But all everyone knew was that they where all once human, but they suddenly turned into a form of creature when Blanc died, it had seemed to put the city into a form of havoc.
The first night of Blanc’s death when everyone turned creature, the city was in a rampage. The highest number of deaths had taken place that night, along with chaos and destruction. It seemed to simply crumble at that moment. Many of them tried to leave, but when they tried to cross the city’s borderlines, they couldn’t get out. It was almost as if a barrier had simply formed the moment Blanc died.
What the city considers being the Living World outside of the city has always seemed to pass by Cherry Grove for a reason. Anyone outside of Cherry Grove doesn’t seem to know the reason, but as rumors kept on spreading within the outside world of Cherry Grove, it quickly drew people away, giving Cherry Grove a rather small population since that day. But as people say, curiosity killed the cat, people tried to get into Cherry Grove. Those who entered the city also suffered from the same curse.
One day however, a man dared to enter Blanc Mansion. Though as he entered it, it seemed as though the world itself seemed to crumble. Walking up the stairs he went, going straight into Blanc’s bedroom. Lying on top of his pillow was a written letter apparently written by him before the night he died.
“Dear ______,
I see that you are reading this letter. If you are, you are probably reading this because there was a curse laid upon the city. Although I am obligated to tell you, I shall not as it simply ruins the fun in this little game. But I congratulate you to make such a fine sacrifice as to entering my humble home!
I am willing to play a small game with you, your close friends, your loved ones and those who you just invite. Rather they are outsiders or not, they all are welcome to play in this game of mine which I call Cryptography.
The game is simple. You along with those you invite are to stay within the mansion for a total of one year. But as you stay within the mansion, you will begin to uncover clues as to how the curse was placed upon the city. But once you accept this game as you sign your name onto the letter you are placing your own life at stake. You are not allowed to leave this mansion for a total of one year. If you try to leave, you are also rejecting the game’s rules and risking your own life.
Now I see that you are probably going to ask for the prize. If you successfully succeed in staying within the mansion for a total of one year, without even trying to break out or leave the mansion, you will be given your own human life back. You have the opportunity to choose whether or not you’d like to be a mortal or immortal, the choice is yours but you still can die even if you choose the life of a mortal. You’ll also have the opportunity to leave and enter the city for as many times as you please. There is no official winner in this game, but those who stay within the mansion are considered winners. Those who don’t aren’t.
Now that the score is settled, there is a list of clues down below. Follow these clues and try to find out the secrets of the mansion and the curse altogether. Your triumphs within the mansion are also the cities triumphs, as they too will be lifted once you solve the puzzle.
If you are accepting this game, please sign your name below. Your time and fate waits!
Yours truly, Blanc.”
After reading the letter, the man had quickly rushed out of the mansion and quickly the word of the letter spread. But as word got out, only very few dared to take the chance of staying within the mansion. But the question is now, will you be one of the selective few who stayed in the mansion and play the game of Cryptography? Or will you be the one who stays as a simple resident, taking life as it passes by?
